Trip Description

Ask anyone who has travelled to the Yukon about their experience and they will say, without a doubt, that it is one of the most magical places to visit in Canada.

And at the heart of this territory, the Yukon River, flowing from South to North, has filled people with hopes and dreams since the Klondike Gold rush as it became the main route for gold rushers. Today, as modern highways were introduced into the region, the river has been allowed to return to its natural state providing beautiful and pristine canoe-camping conditions.

Join me on this expedition as we explore 320kms of this wild river in this Larger than Life territory. From Whitehorse, we will travel the length of Lake Laberge and the Thirty Mile Section of the river, up to the confluence of the Teslin river and then on to Carmacks.

Learn about the river’s history as we explore old villages and trading post locations, and hopefully see some wildlife such as Bald Eagles, Deer, Moose and perhaps even bears.

Although some canoeing experience is preferable, anyone can join this trip as your guide will be able to teach you the basics required to navigate this river.
